An afternoon in the park

Yesterday Augie and I went to explore a new park. It's a place we've driven by a hundred times but have never stopped to explore. We were lucky to make some new friends, and Augie had his first go at basketball.

Just in the last month Augie's really begun to notice kids and express interest in them. Today at the gym, as we walked out of the child care room (he led me right from the child care room to the front door of the gym all by himself!) we encountered two little girls on their way in, and he held his hand high and waved to them - a first for him, waving hello so boldly!

When Augie noticed that the other kids at the park were having a snack, he wanted in. The nanny and her charges were very kind to share their pretzels with us. It's always so strange - and so great - to see Augie interacting with other kids.

I'm sorry these pics are so far away, but this pregnant mama just wasn't going to get up!
