1 year - Portraits and other pictures

I think this will be the last post of pictures from Michigan. Tomorrow we're having a birthday brunch for Augie, his third little birthday celebration (we only expect about 7-8 people to come). I hope to get some in-focus pictures for that.

I loved taking pictures of Gwenn and Grace - they didn't feel like they needed to smile or make a happy face - they just looked into the camera. I think these pictures are so beautiful:

I love the look in Grace's eye here:

This series is so fun. James thought it would be funny to get all the kids to do something, like raise their arms. I think it makes for great, fun pictures:

1 year - Cousin time

We took so many pictures while we were in Michigan, and so few of them are in focus, that it's really quite difficult to pick some out for posting here. Luckily I discovered that putting pictures in black and white distracts from how out-of-focus they are, hence today's lack of color.

I'm thinking that tomorrow I'll post some portraits. I have some beautiful pictures of the girls, and some funny ones of the four kids together.

Here they are, the four grandkids (oh, and me) - William, August, Gwenn and Grace:

I can't tell you how good the girls were with August. They seemed to really enjoy playing with him and helping us take care of him. Sometimes they'd just follow him around to make sure he didn't get into trouble, handing him toys, reading to him - even helping him take a bath!:

Augie likes to put food in our mouths, like we put food in his:

Grace was a good sport about it - she really didn't want that slimy cheese, but she ate it:

We also visited the extended family of cousins - the children of my paternal cousins:

1 year - Augie's first 1st birthday

So far we've had two small celebrations of Augie's first birthday (with one more to come this weekend). These pictures are of the first little party, attended by Augie's parents, maternal grandparents, and maternal uncle (Ben) and cousins (Grace, Gwenn, William).

We started the celebration with Augie's birthday crown (thanks Auntie Laura!) and some gift opening:

1 year - Settling in

We returned from Michigan late last night and have had a very busy day today, so I only have time for a quick picture. There are lots of fun pictures from the holiday in Kalamazoo with family, so stay tuned over the next couple days.
